Some are still used by Quechua farmers, using the same agricultural methods as their Inca ancestors! Just above you are the glaciers that grace the tops of the Andean peaks year round.

Travel back in time as you journey from high altitude wide valleys, into narrow jungle valleys. This change is a sign that you are now approaching both Machu Picchu and the Amazon jungle. After being transported by shuttle bus from Aguas Calientes to the citadel of Machu Picchu (2,400m/7907ft), you will finally experience this magical, sacred and mysterious place.  Take your time exploring the majestic Machu Picchu, the Incan ruins rich in history of its past and the thriving culture of the people who once resided there.
